Camp Shalom (ages 7-9)

Camp Shalom (ages 7-9)

JCC Camps at Medford create lifelong campers. Our programs grow with our campers by providing the opportunity to discover new activities and succeed in greater challenges.

Camp Shalom is our summer day camp program for children entering 2nd through 4th grade. They love our Club Program where they get to choose a few of their own camp activities. Whether they join our Performing Arts Group, Creative Arts Activities, Athletic Clinics or Adventure Programs, they’ll have the chance to discover new skills or enjoy old favorites.

Camp Shalom campers are grouped by grade and divided into bunks with a 4:1 camper to staff ratio. Each of our age groups are supervised by an adult division head.

Athletics

At JCC Camps at Medford, we pride ourselves on age appropriate activities for each age group. Our Camp Shalom campers continue to work on building skills and drills while expanding their horizons with new sports and recreation activities. Our oldest Camp Shalom campers even have the opportunity to compete in a competitive sports league. Our dedicated sports staff guide campers through skill-building, understanding each new sport, competitive games, and sportsmanship. Our athletic activities include: Gaga, Basketball, Bankshot Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer, Softball, Kickball, Slug Ball, Tennis, Hockey, Beach Newcombe, Lacrosse, Field Sports, Competitive Sports League, Yoga and Mini-Golf.

Social Development

The most important part of a summer at JCC Camps at Medford is building meaningful and lasting friendships. Our trained camp counselors create an environment where campers grow in confidence and independence by helping them navigate social development. While traveling between activities, camp bunks can be heard and seen singing songs, creating cheers and racing their way through their summer home! This caring environment provides children with vital emotional and social skills that will help them succeed through the rest of their lives.
