Camp Shalom – Week 2

We were excited to see so many new and returning campers’ smiling faces at Camp Shalom this week!  Our campers and counselors started off the week getting to know each other by playing games and creating bunk songs and cheers!  In addition, to enjoying many of their tried and true favorite camp activities, like Gaga, Arts & Crafts, Master Chef, Jr., our campers will also have a blast this summer trying out some new activities. Masada and Dimona have the opportunity to learn some magic skills. Haifa, Eilat, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv can try out Song Leading and Israeli Games as a club choice. We are so lucky to have Adi and Maya all the way from Israel to teach our Shalom campers exciting games from Israel. In Usable Arts, campers made personalized pennants to show their bunk spirit. At Master Chef Jr, the campers taste tested items found in the kitchen that are sweet and salty and culminated the period by making Sweet and Salty Chocolate Chip cookies. During Mad Science the campers made harmonicas out of straws and played some music. We ended the week with an especially memorable performance by the Israeli Scouts, who came all the way from Israel to sing and dance with us!  Looking forward to another great week next week. Have a happy and safe 4th of July! Don’t forget that Picture Day is next Thursday, July 7th!
