JCC Camps at Medford
When you're a kid, every summer matters.

Our LITs have had a great week spending time with their bunks and learning a ton at our LIT programs!

We started the week off with a GaGa tournament on Monday, and the LITs had a great time playing together as a division.

On Tuesday and Thursday, the LITs participated in a new program at camp, Safe Sitter Babysitting Training. The LITs learned how to manage babysitting jobs as a business, learned about different developmental stages of children and how to entertain, take care of, and handle problem behaviors of children ages infant to 10 years old. The LITs also learned to decipher what injuries they could manage themselves and what injuries need adult help. The LITs closed out the day learning infant and child choking rescue and CPR.

Wednesday, we went to the Philadelphia Zoo and had our own Late Stay. The LITs  had a great day competing in a scavenger hunt at the zoo. Back at camp, they enjoyed a private swim at the Aaron Pool, sports, henna, and s’mores at their own bonfire.

We ended our week with the Gesher Philanthropy Initiative program, during which the LITs “purchased” the Jewish values that were meaningful to them and began to write the mission statement of our philanthropy foundation.

Next week, we will travel to Ocean City and have our first Day of Caring and Sharing (community service) at Camp.

Shabbat Shalom and have a great weekend!
