GESHER LITs Learning a Lot!
The LITs had a great and spirited Ruach Week at camp!
Each day this week, the LITs were amazing collecting all of the donations at the bus yard. We were all very appreciative of their hard work and spirit in the bus yard!
On Monday, all the LITs participated in our Leadership Training of the week, focusing on “Good Listening”. The LITs did a wonderful job of trying to listen to their teammates as all of the other teams were also shouting at each other to find all their team’s pieces. Afterwards, we had a strong discussion about listening.
On Wednesday, we traveled to Princeton, NJ. The LITs enjoyed free time and lunch at Palmer Square. After lunch, we split into teams and tried to Escape the Room. Most of our teams succeed and it was a fun bonding trip for all of us.
On Friday, the LITs worked hard to select the 2016 Gesher Philanthropy Initiative Grant Awardee. The LITs listened to all of the opinions, discussed what they heard during the site visits and ultimately chose one grant as the awardee. We will be announcing this next week.
Next week, the LITs will be participating in an in-camp community service project in which we will be making dried soup in jars to donate Jewish Family and Children’s Services. We are also excited to travel to Ocean City for our last beach day.
