Hilltop kids received a warm welcome “home” to summer camp in their Week 1 activities. Our Little Chefs were introduced to the skills of chopping, mixing and measuring ingredients, creating tasty honey apple cakes. In Musical Movement, the campers learned lots of different ways to “play” with music – singing, dancing and making their own music. In Usable Art, campers fashioned Native-American inspired friendship bracelets, accessorizing with earth-tone gems found in nature. Campers decorated frames for their bunk photos in addition to creating name art in Arts and Crafts. In Dance, the campers developed their knowledge of positions – releve, passe, arabesque, echppe and jete, while our Little Scientists explored the property of magnetism. In Nature, we became acquainted with the animals in our petting zoo. On the fields and courts, campers happily engaged in friendly competitive play! We are extremely excited about our new “Learn to Ride a Bike” program. It teaches kids how to balance on two-wheelers using special “Strider” bikes. Be on the lookout for your child bringing home certificates in the coming weeks as they earn achievements in bike riding!
