Hilltop – Week 7

Hilltop Happenings

This week was Lucky # 7 for us, as we saw the grand re-opening of the Splash Park!! Also, the stars came out on Thursday night as the Camp Hilltop theater troupe performed an incredible show,  “The Camp Necessities.”  Heartfelt thanks to show director, Siobhan McClintock, for putting together a truly entertaining evening! There are future Broadway singers among us!

In Arts and Crafts, the campers created ocean scenes on wooden canvases.  To inspire dreams about sea life, in Usable Arts, the kids made their very own nautical pillows.  In Little Chefs, the kids focused on the mitzvah of “protecting the body” by discussing healthy eating habits and baking delicious bran muffins. Our Little Scientists proved how easily germs can spread through hand-to-hand contact, and highlighted the good practice of thorough hand-washing.  After all, we will be high-fiving each other and shaking hands A LOT next week as our Maccabiah color war battle kicks off! The sports activities this week helped prepare the campers for the upcoming days of friendly competition, which will run from Monday to Thursday!
