Gesher LIT’s focus on Good Listening and Inclusion

By JCC Camps at Medford

Our LITs had a great fourth week of Camp!

On Monday, all the LITs participated in our Leadership Training of the week, focusing on “Good Listening”. The LITs did a wonderful job of trying to listen to their teammates as all of other teams were also shouting at each other to find all their team’s pieces. Afterwards, we had a strong discussion about listening.

Tuesday after camp, the LITs were so excited to have their own time to be campers at our LIT Overnight.  The LITs enjoyed time on the Aaron Sports Field, baking cookies, swimming and eating s’mores.

After sleeping at camp, on Wednesday, we traveled to all the way to Dorney Park, where we were able to spend a fun, long day. The LITs had a great time on the roller coasters and the water rides.

On Thursday, we all let out our inner camper and played at the Camp Carnival.

We ended our week with a GPI session in which the LITs identified causes and Jewish Values in which the LITs felt passionate about. Many of the LITs felt strongly about Inclusion, Saving a Life and Compassion. We also read all of the grant proposals submitted for the GPI program.

Next week, we will travel to iPlay America and enjoy the rides and games. We are also excited to celebrate Israel Week with our campers.

Shabbat Shalom!

B’Shalom,
