Camp Shalom had a fun-filled, fabulous time during Israel Week this week. At Master Chef, Jr., our campers made homemade pitas, which they then topped with a delicious, Israeli chocolate spread! Campers also got to sample “limonana,” a refreshing Israeli lemon and mint drink. At Ceramics, our campers created beautiful, hand-crafted hamsas out of clay. At Usable Arts, our campers made colorful, popsicle-stick bookmarks, which some campers then chose to donate to JFCS clients in need. At Israel Day, our campers got to have a little taste of Israel right here in Medford, NJ. Campers learned about “teamwork” on a Kibbutz by playing fun, team building games together. We also got to feel what it is like to be in the Israeli Army at our Boot Camp Obstacle Course. Campers also heard the story of Jerusalem and had to work together to “free” Israel by finding their Israeli Flags during Capture the Flag. Finally, we got our Israeli dancing shoes on during our Israeli Dance Party!!
Our Haifa and Eilat Campers also had a blast at their Late Stay on Wednesday Night. Campers hung out with friends, played games and even hit the sports field for an extended evening of fun! The night ended with an amazing performance by the Dynamo Dogs!
Looking forward to our Masada & Dimona Late Stay next Wednesday, August 3rd!
Please remember to go onto your child’s Camp in Touch Portal and fill out the permission slip!!
