This week our LITs have had a great time bonding with their bunks and learning a lot at our LIT programs!
On Tuesday, the LITs worked together at Ropes. We spent the period teambuilding and discovering how being a part of a team can help them in their bunk, pool and specialty responsibilities.
Wednesday, we traveled to Philadelphia to see the Phillies play the Braves in the heat. We had a great time cheering on the Phillies with Coolanu and Chaverim!
This Thursday, we held a special LIT leadership session with guest speakers from the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF). Amy Milgrim and Seth Mirowitz helped the LITs identify what philanthropic causes are important to them and begin to understand the effect their grant can have on the community.
We ended our week with the Gesher Philanthropy Initiative program in which the LITs purchased the Jewish values that were meaningful to them and began to write the mission statement of our philanthropy fund.
Next week, we will travel to Ocean City and have our first Day of Caring and Sharing opportunity (community service) at the Neighborhood Center.
Shabbat Shalom and have a great weekend!
