Just like the record temperatures, the amount of fun we had during Week 4 was off the charts! The Anaf/Bayit kids were thrilled to share their camp activities with the parents on Tuesday. In Nature, our Hilltoppers lovingly planted flowers in our beautiful new garden. During Cooking, we were reminded that “wherever you go, there’s always someone Jewish!” as the campers learned about Hawaiian Jewish culture and prepared foods one would find at a luau. In Science, we explored the concept of sinking vs floating, which also happened to correspond with our Swim-a-thon this week! The Art projects were awesome and will make nice keepsakes: we preserved our tiny handprints in clay, and decorated them with seashells, and we each made our very own awesome “ocean-in-a-jar”!
On Wednesday, we were treated to a special Camp Aaron performance of their show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Carnival Day was in full force on Thursday, where we moonbounced, played games, had our faces painted, had our fortunes told, received glitter tattoos, sack-raced, and danced our little hearts out to the beat supplied by none other than RockIt Entertainment! We welcomed the peace that Shabbat brings and were happy to have our friends from Kellman Brown Academy, Principal Emily Cook and Rabbi Micah Liben as our very special guests. We look forward to celebrating Israel Week next week, and simply cannot believe that our summer is now half-way through!
