2018 – Camp Hilltop – Week 8

Hilltop Happenings

Time flies when you are having fun!

Where did the summer go?   This week, we had one last celebration of Israel by competing in Survivor: Israel Maccabiah Color War.  The campers and counselors embraced the theme and showed their team spirit all week long!  The rachmanus (sportsmanship) was apparent, and we all had a great time.  All of our specialists had unique competitions planned for the campers. Science used scavenger hunts to revisit themes taught throughout the summer.  Little Chefs made special creations out of different food items to represent their colors.  Usable Arts took the time to create a service project to beautify Camp Hilltop.  They painted large wooden blocks that we will use to decorate our Anaf and Bayit pavilions. Our Aquatics team transformed instructional swim into competitive pool games.  Campers also earned points for their teams by being super quiet during Silent Lunch!  It was a very close race, and everyone played hard and tried their best. We ended our week with divisional dance parties hosted by Rock-It Entertainment. Finally, we recited the Shabbat blessings one last time as a Hilltop Family, enjoying some delicious challah before heading off to the bus yard!

Thank you to all the wonderful campers, families, and staff members for making this summer a fantastic one! We hope you have a terrific school year, and we look forward to seeing you in 2019!
