2018 Camp Shalom – Week 6

Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom!

Camp Shalom was full of Ruach (Spirit) throughout Week 6!

This week we focused on helping those in need and remembering that is our duty to help repair the world.  We had a blast with dress up days and our coin collection for tzedakah (charity)!  From Disney Day to Camp Pride it has really been a great week.

Campers at Master Chef Jr. baked delicious banana olive oil muffins and talked about the olive branch being a symbol of peace.  In Mad Science, campers learned about motion and chemical reactions by making lemon volcanoes.  At Usable Art, campers explored the tzedakah theme by decorating superhero capes to donate to children in need.  Positive thinking buttons were created at Arts & Crafts featuring positive messages.  At Fishing, campers continued to enjoy learning about the different types of fish in our lake.  Campers at Nature had fun playing with animals in the petting zoo, as well as exploring the hiking trails around camp.

Our Masada and Dimona campers had a blast at their Late Stay!  They enjoyed a fun evening at the lake with a DJ and extra time at sports.

On Friday, our campers proudly performed at the Camp Shalom Talent Show.  They really wowed their fellow campers with their talents and unique acts!

We are so excited for Week 7, when we will have our Camp Shalom Show on Wednesday, August 8!  Our campers and staff have worked hard all summer on their show, Seussical KIDS.  Please join us at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm).

Thanks again for a wonderful week!
