Camp Shalom week 1 2018
Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom!
Hello Camp Shalom families!
Welcome to camp! We have jumped into summer in an amazing way – at JCC Camps at Medford! We are making new friends and looking forward to all of the exciting activities in Camp Shalom.
This summer’s camp theme is Israel at 70. During week 1, we have explored one of Israel’s most diverse cities – Haifa. Camp is one big happy and diverse family, just like Haifa. At Arts & Crafts campers created unity collages using magazine clippings to show that difference can unite us, while campers at Ceramics used the same ingredients to create unique art pieces. Camper at Digi Photo worked with nature elements to create name plaques and photograph them. Colors of Friendship Cookies were on the menu at Master Chef, Jr. and unique poses were created at Yoga. Shalom campers also had a great time at Nature meeting the new animals, fishing at the lake, playing sports in the fields, swimming, and more!
