GESHER WEEK 7-2017
The LITs had a great seventh week at camp!
On Monday, LITs built sufficient consensus to choose a recipient project for our Gesher Philanthropy Initiative funded by a grant from the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. and the Weiss Family. The LITs worked hard, listened to one another, and came to a decision that everyone could accept. The LITs are proud to announce that they will be splitting their grant evenly between Project Rainbow and Projects SAIL/SOAR. Both programs are a part of Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey, and they are very thankful for the grants. Please ask your teens about why they felt passionate about these programs.
Tuesday, the LITs reflected on the leadership skills they have gained this summer, what being a leader means to them now, and what is next for each of them. Each LIT also wrote themselves a letter that will be mailed to them in May.
Wednesday, the LITs trekked up to Great Adventure and had a thrilling day on the rides. The LITs were happy to have a long day at the park and also eat dinner there.
Friday, the LITs celebrated the completion of their Gesher Philanthropy Initiative Program. The LITs presented a check to Jewish Family and Children’s Services for both projects.
