Gesher LITs – Week 2 – 20018
Gesher LIT’s Get Going!
This week our LITs have had a great week bonding with their bunks and learning about teamwork at our LIT programs!
Tuesday, we traveled to Ocean City, NJ. The LITs had a blast beating the heat while walking on the boardwalk, laying out on the beacon and playing in the waves.
On Thursday, the LITs learned about teamwork, listening to one another and providing support for each other while working with their groups at Ropes. Each group tried out their teamwork on different obstacles from the spider web to the whale watching board and beyond. Afterwards, we discussed how this applied to working in our bunks, specialty areas and pools.
We ended our week with Shabbat, when we came together for our third session of the Gesher Social Justice Corps in which the LITs purchased the Jewish values that were meaningful to them and began to select what causes were important to them personally. It was exciting to watch the LITs choose their paths for our summer long project.
Next week, we will travel to Hurricane Harbor, and learn about accepting others and diversity.
Shabbat Shalom and have a great weekend!
B’Shalom,
