2018-Camp Aaron – Week 8

Camp Aaron had a blast!

As we wrap up another summer at the JCC Camps at Medford, our campers and staff competed in SURVIVOR: ISRAEL… MACCABIAH 2018.  It was great seeing our campers and staff dress up representing their colors. We started things off on Monday with a brand new event called the Baton Battle.  Four colored batons were hidden around camp and the campers had to search for them. After some time clues were given. Only 2 of the 4 batons were found but the campers had a great time searching. Monday afternoon and Tuesday, the campers were able to select the activities that they competed in, and on Wednesday and Thursday there were team activities.  These activities include a swim meet, Minute to Win It, an interactive game show by Hollyrock Entertainment, and Relays/Games on the Sports Field. With the final score still in question, our week came to a culmination with our Apache Relay and our “Sign, Song, and Cheer” Competition. Each team put forth their best effort and will share Maccabiah memories for years to come.

As the camping season comes to a close it’s time to reminisce about what an amazing summer we had this year. In addition to their favorites (Crafts, Lake Inflatables, Archery, etc….) campers were encouraged to try new activities (Circuitry, Drones, 3D Printing, Boxing, etc…). We had a memorable time on our overnights, during Carnival Day, Israel Day, and with all our other special events. Within these activities, friendships were formed and/or strengthened.  We will miss our 8th grade friends but look forward to seeing them move up to be LITs next summer.

It has been another wonderful summer for everyone in Camp Aaron! Thank you for sharing your children with us. I hope everyone has a great camp off-season and we’ll look forward to seeing everyone back in Medford for Summer 2019!
