One of the highlights for our LITs (Leaders in Training) each summer is the community service projects they complete as a team. This week, our LITs created layered dry soup jars for the Betsy and Peter Fischer Food Pantries. The JFCS Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantries provide non-perishable food and personal care items to food-insecure households in Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester Counties. They have three food pantry locations to serve the needs of the community.
As our young teens entering 9th graders learn about leadership, we think it is vital to instill in them a sense of giving back to those in need in our community. We are proud to watch them get excited for these projects, knowing that the work they do makes a difference. Together, our 2019 LITs created 108 soup jars to help families dealing with food insecurity right here in our community.
