Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom! Week 6 2021
Camp Shalom had a terrific Week 6! From Disney Magic Monday to Camp Pride Friday, our campers showed lots of ruach (Spirit) throughout the week.
This week we continued our summer theme of heroes learning about the character traits of leadership and justice.
In Arts & Crafts campers decorated superhero eye masks. Campers learned how to make invisible ink and write secret codes at Mad Science using lemon juice. At Master Chef Jr., campers baked delicious soft pretzels and had a lot of fun twisting them into pretzel shapes! Campers learned about endangered animals and the importance of the food chain at Nature. To learn about justice through Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s legacy, campers created her lace collar at Usable Art using crocheted yarn and beads. At Music, campers played charades with movie titles. Campers continue to enjoy fishing and turtling at the Lake, as well as adventure activities such as low ropes and climbing boulder. On the Sports Field, campers are having a blast playing kickball, lacrosse, relay races, and more!
On Wednesday, our Masada and Dimona campers had so much fun at their Late Stay! The evening was filled with swimming, Lake Inflatables, dinner and fun!!
We can’t wait for Week 7!
