GESHER LIT’s GET GOING! week 7-2021
This week the topic for LITs was people first. We spent Monday learning about adversity and all about working with children who have special needs; we were also joined by Rabbi Nogah Marshall from Congregation Beth El who shared the powerful story of her brother Eyal and all that he overcame to achieve his goals and become an artist. She spoke about people first language and ran a workshop about the language we use when describing those with disabilities and special needs. It was then followed up by a painting activity in memory of Eyal called “Eyal’s Flowers.”
On Friday we hit the road once again for our final trip to Six Flags Great Adventure. The LITs had a blast riding the amazing rollercoasters, playing games and experiencing all the other goodies the park had to offer.
Onward to week 8 for Maccabiah Color War fun!
