Aaron – Week 8

Camp Aaron Had a Blast

As we wrap up the JCC Camps at Medford 75th summer, our campers and staff competed in DECADES OF MEMORIES… MACCABIAH THROUGH THE YEARS.  It was great seeing our campers and staff dress up representing the Red Fab 50’s, Yellow Snazzy 60’s, Green Groovy 70’s and the Blue Awesome 80’s. On Monday and Tuesday, the campers were able to select the activities that they competed in and on Wednesday and Thursday there were team activities.  These activities include a swim meet, Minute to Win It, an interactive game show by Hollyrock Entertainment, and Relays/Games on the Sports Field.  With the final score still in question, our week culminated with our Apache Relay and our “Sign, Song, and Cheer” Competition. Each team put forth their best effort and will share Maccabiah memories for years to come.

As the camping season comes to a close it’s time to reminisce about what an amazing summer we had this year. In addition to their favorites (Crafts, Lake Inflatables, Archery, etc.) campers were encouraged to try new activities (Coding, Working with Wax, YoYo, and more). We had a memorable time on our overnights, during Carnival Day, Israel Day, and with all our other special events. Within these activities friendships were formed and/or strengthened.  We will miss our 8th grade friends, but look forward to seeing them move up to be LITs next summer.

It has been another wonderful summer for everyone in Camp Aaron! Thank you for sharing your children with us. I hope everyone has a great camp off-season and we’ll look forward to seeing everyone back in Medford for Summer 2018!
