Camp Aaron – week 3 – 2018

By JCC Camps at Medford

Camp Aaron is having a blast!

Camp is flying by! Gilad campers were truly excited to have their first overnight. In addition to an extra swim and some fun activities, they were treated to an awe-inspiring program by World Yo-Yo Champion, Tyler Severance. After watching his performance, Tyler led a workshop where they  learned some of his many tricks. All the kids enjoyed bunk activities, an ice cream treat, and a camp-wide scavenger hunt. A great night was had by everyone!

The campers are having a blast at each of their individual activities.  In our STEM program, campers are loving 3D printing, robotics and flying drones with their friends.  Our Arts and Crafts campers have designed their own unique masterpieces of nail art combining woodworking and embroidery.  Their individual art projects focused on their creativity and keen eye-hand coordination. During Jewelry campers learned new techniques to design bracelets using hemp and wooden beads.  Painting came alive as the kids sculpted multi-cultural masks. In Woodworking the kids built spice racks, and in Top Chef our campers made mouth-watering challah french toast casserole.

Last,  but not least, Digi Photo kids have been taking pictures of themselves, their friends, and JCC’s lovely camp grounds, framed 4×6 photos, and used their graphic design skills to craft one-of-a-kind bookmarks.  In JCC TV, campers have been busy writing, directing, starring in, editing, and publishing Welcome to JCC Camp videos; stay tuned to view them on the camp’s YouTube page.  Lastly, the campers in Intermediate Graphic Design and Mixed Media Arts are immersed in a self-portraiture project. They are coming out fabulously and reflect each camper’s own unique perspective.

Thursday is Carnival Day and we have many exciting things planned for our campers. Keep checking our website for pics of your child loving JCC Camps at Medford!!

Have a great weekend!
