Camp Aaron – Week 5 – 2019
Camp Aaron is having a blast!
We had so much fun during week five in Camp Aaron!
On Monday, we welcomed so many new campers for the second half of the camp season. Monday was also the start of Israel Week. The campers were treated to a falafel lunch and many discovered a newfound liking for falafel and hummus. Our JCC Camp Shlichot (Shirly, Mayan, Orel) and the rest of the Camp Aaron staff, did an amazing job as we celebrated Israel Day on Friday. Our campers participated in 3 different activities such as: a Purim art activity, an Israel Independence Day obstacle course/army training, and for Shavuot the campers played water games. The campers rotated between the areas and had a great time celebrating with our Shlichot.
Thursday was the Arad overnight. After spending some extra time at camp and eating dinner, we bused the campers to the JCC in Cherry Hill for an AWESOME cupcake decorating contest. Campers learned cupcake decorating techniques and worked with their teams to create a camp themed poster incorporating their designed cupcakes with their artwork. The program concluded with the campers being able to eat their cupcakes. Following the cupcake decorating they enjoyed a dip in the Katz JCC pool. In the morning, the campers went back to camp, ate breakfast, and were able to enjoy some activities they don’t normally get to use.
As another week flies by, we find ourselves looking forward to Ruach Week. Let’s show everyone that Camp Aaron has the most spirit! Week 6 will also be the Tavor Overnight on Thursday, August 1st. Parents can log into your Camp InTouch portals and fill out the permission form for the overnight online (please do this by Sunday evening).
