Camp Hilltop Week 5
Camp Hilltop took a trip around Israel this week!
This week we celebrated Israel. Like America, Israel is a melting pot of different cultures and languages, as well as the Jewish homeland! We learned about the different regions of Israel and really started to make connections to our themes from past weeks. Our specialists brought the country into focus this week with some amazing activities!
In Arts and Crafts, Jordan had the campers create artistic Stars of David to represent the flag of Israel. Our Little Scientists learned about all the different areas and regions of Israel. They read the PJ Library Book, Ella’s Trip to Israel. Our Little Chefs explored the many different smells and tastes by creating fresh hummus and Israeli salad.
On Wednesday, Camp Hilltop went all out to celebrate by throwing Israel a 70th birthday party! The campers trained like the IDF and had their own archaeological dig. The fun didn’t stop there. In Nature, the campers went on a hike around camp. They learned about the Israel Trail and collected leaves on their way to make leaf people! They also took some time to check out the bean garden that our little Hilltoppers created last week while learning about the Negev. Israel week is always full of fun here at camp!
