Camp Hilltop lends a helping hand this week!
This week’s theme was the city of Jerusalem and tzedakah. Jerusalem is a city filled with people who love to learn, pray, and help those in need. This Ruach Week was all about helping those in need, and remembering that it is our duty to help repair the world. Our specialists helped the campers come up with ways to help others this week with some amazing activities!
In Arts and Crafts, Jordan had the campers create a mini version of our planet. They put band-aids on their artwork to represent how they plan to help the earth. In Nature, the kids are helping animals by creating two different types of bird feeders. Our Dance specialists represented the old city of Jerusalem by teaching the kids the Four Corner Dance.
Thank you to all the families who came out to the International Skate Center on Monday night. Our campers had a blast skating and climbing the big indoor jungle gym. Also, our Hilltop campers really brought their spirit by dressing for Disney, Super Hero, Wild West, Decade, and Camp Pride days! Hilltop is always the place to be because everyone is filled with Ruach!
Next week is a very busy week! We have a performance by Mainstages coming on Monday! The performance is about how to be kind to the environment. On Thursday, we have our own camper performance. Please join our little Hilltop performers at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill for “When You Believe!” The show will start at 7:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:30. While you are waiting you can take a look at our campers’ spectacular artwork in the Appel Art Gallery.
