Camp Shalom – Week 3 – 2018

Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom!

What a fantastic Week 3!  Camp Shalom was on the move, continuing with our celebration of Israel at 70.  This week we “traveled” to Tel Aviv, the epicenter of technology and innovation in Israel.

In Arts & Crafts campers built architectural sculptures using modeling clay and toothpicks, while at Ceramics campers created smart phone stands using polymer clay.  Did you know that the cell phone was invented in Israel?!  At Usable Art, campers made Inventor Journals to capture all of their original big ideas.  Campers at Music explored their singing voices and explored the role of technology in music.  At Digi Photo, campers enhanced their photographs with colorful threading.  Ice Cream in a Bag was made at Master Chef, Jr. by shaking delicious ingredients together in zip top bags, while at Yoga campers enjoyed a yoga dance party!  Everyone had a great time on the sports field, at nature, and all of our activities.

Campers also loved participating in a camp scavenger hunt during their Bunk Unity periods, and we were all smiles for Picture Day!

Our Jerusalem and Tel Aviv campers had a great time at their Late Stay, enjoying extra time at the lake and sports fields and having camp all to themselves for the evening!

Reminders:
