CAMP SHALOM WEEK 7-2017

Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom!

Camp Shalom had another incredible week!  During Week 7, we focused on the theme of B’tzelem Elohim, Everyone is Created in the Image of G-d.  Campers learned that every person is important and equal to one another.  At camp, this is of particular importance because it means that we are all special!

At Arts & Crafts, campers created comic strips about themselves and shared them with one another – each camper has their own unique story.  We also loved relating this back to our PJ Our Way book of the summer, Who is Stan Lee?  Campers at Ceramics sculpted clay faces, while at Digi Photo campers created colorful chalk images to pose with.  At Master Chef Jr., campers baked up delicious apple pie crisp cups.  Campers used toothpicks and mini marshmallows to construct towers at Mad Science.  At Mini Golf, campers talked about what makes them each special before hitting the putting green.  Campers learned about land and lake connections and how everything is connected at Nature.  Campers at Usable Art created diamond sun catchers, as diamonds are unique and strong just like us!

Our Theater campers put on an amazing Camp Shalom Show on Tuesday night, enhanced by the set and props created by campers in Set Production!  A big thank you to all of the campers and staff that worked so hard on Willy Wonka for Kids!  Congrats on a job well done!

Schedules for Week 8 will be sent home with your campers on Monday, as we are planning a fun and exciting Maccabiah (Color War)!  We cannot believe that there is just one week of camp left!
