Camp Shalom Week 2

Hello Camp Shalom families!

What a Week 2!  This week Camp Shalom explored the theme of Sukkot, an autumnal harvest festival.

At Arts & Crafts, we created wind chimes using cups and lacing beads.  Campers learned about chromatography at Mad Science using coffee filters and markers.  Pinch pot pumpkin spice cellars were sculpted at Ceramics.  Campers were in motion at Music/Theater, learning to tell stories with their bodies and exploring multiple ways of communication.  In Master Chef Jr, campers baked delicious pumpkin banana bread that really had us tasting the flavors of Fall.  Campers created their own unique Sukkot-themed poses at Yoga and used leaves to make place mats at Usable Art.  Campers are also having a blast at our newly renovated Lake Inflatables and Mini Golf, as well as our newest activity – Human Foosball!  The animals at Nature are so much fun to visit, and our campers are catching many fish at the lake.  We love seeing our campers’ smiling faces on the sports fields, at the pools, and at every activity!

On Wednesday we celebrated America with Red, White & Blue Day and our Theater participants began learning their roles for the Camp Shalom Show (save the date – August 7th)!

We can’t wait for the Jerusalem & Tel Aviv Late Stay next week – Wednesday, July 10th!  If you have not already done so, please log in to your Camp InTouch portal to sign the permission form.

Looking forward to a fantastic Week 3!
