Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom!

By JCC Camps at Medford

What a Week 2! This week Camp Shalom explored the theme of durability and healing through superhero Captain Marvel and Jewish hero Golda Meir.

Campers at Arts & Crafts created heart dream catchers and pinwheels for peace at Usable Art. At Digi Photo, campers created “build me up lego puzzles” and talked about ways we take care of ourselves and how we help others heal. Banana boats filled with marshmallows and chocolate chips were made at Master Chef Jr and were a delicious treat to eat! At Mad Science, it was all about slime and exploring materials that are durable and elastic. Campers learned about the amazing types of homes that animals build while also exploring the nature trails for animal homes. Superhero poses, self-care, and self-love were all part of the fun at Yoga. Campers at Music enjoyed charades and freeze dance. Campers also beat the heat this week with water added to many activities on the sports fields. We love seeing our campers’ smiling faces at every activity!

We can’t wait for the Jerusalem Late Stay next week on Wednesday, July 14th! If you have not already done so, please log in to your Camp InTouch portal to sign the permission form.

Looking forward to a fantastic Week 3!
