Creating a Camp Family with Camp Shalom!

Hello Camp Shalom families!
Welcome to camp! We are so excited to be back to welcome your children this summer! We are making new friends and looking forward to all of the exciting activities in Camp Shalom.
This summer’s camp theme is Giborim/Heroes. During Week 1, we learned about the character traits of chesed (kindness) and achrayut (responsibility) while getting to know our bunkmates and counselors. Campers learned about the ultimate nice guy, Spiderman, by creating unique spiderweb art at Usable Art and learning the Spiderman Zip Zap Zop at Music. To help campers get to know their bunkmates better, campers at Digi Photo participated in a photo scavenger hunt and personal posters were created at Usable Art. The responsibility to be kind to our planet was the lesson in Mad Science, where camper learned about renewable energy and propulsion methods while building rockets. We were all doing our best Spiderman poses and kindness meditation at Yoga in the new Zen Den. It was really fun getting to know the animals at Nature, discussing the animals found in the Pine Barrens, and learning about kindness to animals. Campers even baked challah with creative toppings at Master Chef Jr! Our campers loved their time at the lake – boating, fishing, lake inflatables – as well as practicing good sportsmanship on the sports field!

Camp Shalom campers look forward to their annual Late Stay. This is an opportunity for each age group to stay at camp for a special evening activity, dinner, and fun! Our Late Stay dates are as follows:
