Gesher Week 5-2018
This week the LITs had a great Israel Week at camp! We celebrated Israel’s birthday at a birthday bash, made Israeli salad, trained like the IDF, and tried our hands at an archaeological dig.
Monday, the LITs worked hard to plan their projects for the Social Justice Corps. Our groups are focusing on healthy lifestyle education, veterans, mental health awareness and creating service projects to support literacy, children with cancer, and children with special needs.
Wednesday, we traveled to Philadelphia to see the Phillies play the Dodgers. We had a great time cheering on the Phillies and seeing Chase Utley in his last game in Philadelphia.
On Friday, the LITs battled it out in Israeli Trivia to close out Israel week. Their knowledge of Israel and its culture amazed us.
Next week, the LITs will be working hard during Ruach week, helping with camp coin collections and a presenting their SJC projects. We will also be traveling to Medieval Times on Wednesday to enjoy the show.
Shabbat Shalom!
