Gesher Week 6

The LITs had a great and spirited Ruach Week at camp!
Each day this week, the LITs were amazing collecting and counting the tzedakah at the bus yard. We were all very appreciative of their hard work and spirit in the bus yard!  On Monday, we traveled to Philadelphia to see the Phillies play the Braves in the heat. We had a great time cheering on the Phillies to a SWEEP with Chaverim!
On Tuesday, our LITs heard speakers from our last two grant applicants.  The LITs were very attentive and asked a lot of great questions.  The LITs found it very informative to hear about the grants from the organizations and ask them clarifying questions.
On Thursday, the LITs enjoyed a fun off period together at the lake playing beach volleyball and on the inflatables.  They have really been working hard in their bunks, specialties, and pools and deserved the time to have fun together.
On Friday, the LITs worked hard to select the 2017 Gesher Philanthropy Initiative Grant Awardee. The LITs listened to everyone’s opinions, discussed what they heard during the site visits and ultimately chose one grant as the awardee. We will be announcing this next week.
Next week, the LITs will be participating in a community service project in which they will be improving the camp which has given them each so much during their camper years.  We are also excited to travel to Great Adventure for our last amusement park trip.
