Hilltop Week 5 2019
Camp Hilltop took a trip around Israel this week!
This week we celebrated Israel. Like America, Israel is a melting pot of different cultures and languages, as well as the Jewish homeland! We are honoring the Jewish Homeland that our ancestors fought so hard to have. The specialists brought the country into focus this week with some amazing activities!
In Arts and Crafts, Ari had the campers create artistic journey bags to honor the Jewish homeland by creating bags to take on a walking adventure. Our Little Scientists learned about how everyone needs to join the Israeli army and it is a big part of their lives. They made army men parachutes and tested their resistance. Our Little Chefs explored the many different smells and tastes by creating fresh hummus and Israeli salad.
On Thursday, Camp Hilltop went across the world and created our own Israel in Medford. The campers trained like the IDF and celebrated Purim by creating masks. Campers celebrated how Shavuot is enjoyed in Israel by having fun water activities on the Hilltop field. At Nature, our campers took some time to check out our garden of Israeli vegetables that our little Hilltoppers have been tending to all summer long. Israel week is always full of fun here at camp!
