Specialty Camps Week at JCC Camps at Medford

Summer 2020 Session: June 22-25

The JCC Camps at Medford is excited to offer one week intensive camp experiences the week before the regular camp season begins. If your child would like to take a deeper dive into an area at camp they love or try something totally new, they can join us July 22-25. Our goal is to inspire campers to grow, learn and explore interests in a challenging and fun environment.

Location: All specialty camps will be held at the JCC Camps at Medford campus, 400 Tuckerton Road, Medford, NJ 08055

Transportation: Round trip transportation provided daily from the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, or option to drop-off and pick-up at camp. Bus departure from JCC at 9 AM and return at 4 PM.

Extended Care: Options for either AM extended care, PM extended care, or both.

Early care starting at 7:15 AM at the Katz JCC- $30/ week
Late care until 6:15 PM at the Katz JCC- $30/ week
Both early and late care- $50/ week

Lunch and Snack: Children will be required to bring their own dairy kosher style lunch. Snacks and ice cream provided daily. We are a nut aware and allergy friendly program. Children are not permitted to bring any products containing nuts onto the bus or campus.

Daily Schedule: Subject to slight changes from program to program.

9 AM: Bus departure from the Katz JCC
9:45 AM- 1 PM: Specialty Intensive
1 PM: Lunch
1:45 AM: Camp Activity
2:30 PM: Free Swim
3:30 PM Bus Departure for Katz JCC or Parent Pick-up

Registration and Cancellation Policies: Some programs have a minimum and/or maximum number of campers permitted. Payments is required in full at the time of registration.

Fashion Design and Machine Sewing with the Handwork Studio

Whether you are an aspiring fashion designer or a creative camper looking for new skills, immerse yourself in the wonderful world of machine sewing! Designed with older campers in mind, this program is all about choice and creative expression. Campers will be taught how to read and use a wide variety of patterns and choose from dozens and dozens of tempting fabrics to bring style and flare to every creation.

Basketball Clinic with College Coach Harris Adler

Harris Adler is a 20-year Division I College Basketball Coach. This clinic will focus on improving individual skills, shooting, ball handling, passing, 1 on 1 moves, and more!

Drone Videography with Drone Legends

Come and learn all things Drone and Drone Videography with Drone Legends instructor, Scott Buell. Campers will learn the many aspects of responsible drone use, experience real-world applications of drone technology, program and launch autonomous drone missions, and learn how to pilot and film using professional equipment.

Soccer Camp

Soccer camps is designed to challenge every player, regardless of their skill level or position. Group training sessions and competitive scrimmages allow campers to learn from our coaches who have experience playing and coaching youth soccer. Our goal is to provide a positive environment for the development and enjoyment of soccer for area youth.

Karate Camp with Bobby Leach

This Award-winning kid’s program is a blend of Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Krav-Maga, gymnastics, Leadership training, and a whole lot of fun. This program has weekly themes and drills/skills to help your child develop Self-esteem, Self-confidence, Self-discipline, the ability to say “NO” to unhealthy peer pressure and Anti-bullying techniques.

Magic Cheer Camp

Magic Cheerleading is built on the premise that cheerleading should be developed in a fun and age appropriate environment that builds self-esteem. In the past 23 years they have created a positive learning experience which helps develop our cheerleaders socially, mentally, and emotionally. They pride themselves on using the sport of cheerleading to build confidence within all of our athletes. Magic’s lesson plan, based on the teaching system, coupled with skilled coaching, has helped promote self esteem, sportsmanship, and skill building. The goal is to encourage and promote healthy relationships and positive experiences that will help children grow into future leaders through the great sport of cheerleading!
