What is Dugma?!

Dugma, the Hebrew word for role model, is a standard that we hold all of our counselors to each summer at the JCC Camps at Medford.  The goal of the JCC Camps at Medford Dugma Fellowship is to build a team of dedicated, enthusiastic counselors to serve as camp leaders and role models for younger camp staff and campers. We want to build our future leadership team from within!

• Employed at least one year as a JCC Camps at Medford staff member
• Must at least be entering 12th grade during Summer 2020
• Complete online application
• Submit short essay (max 500 words)
• Commitment to FULL Summer 2020 camp employment

• Applications due March 15
• Acceptance letters will be sent by mid-April.
• Participants will meet for the first time in May.

• Gather with an exclusive group of strong JCC Camps at Medford counselors, selected from all three camps
• Spend a special day training, exchanging ideas, planning for the summer, and learning new skills
• Develop unique skills to make a positive, exciting impact at the JCC Camps at Medford
• Be a part of an Orientation Welcome Team to greet staff at camp orientations
• Serve as a mentor for younger JCC Camps at Medford staff and LITs
• Meet for a weekly lunch with the Camp Directors for ongoing training, sharing of ideas, and to discuss summer progress
• Become a lead for special ruach filled camp moments such as Shabbat, flag pole, Israeli dancing, and more
• Provide feedback to the Camp Directors on staff training
• Assist with planning of special theme days, Carnival, Israel Week, Ruach Week, and Maccabiah Color War

• Connect with others who are PASSIONATE about Jewish camping and the JCC Camps at Medford
• Build valuable, life-long leadership skills
• Include this PRESTIGIOUS fellowship on your resume
• Build stronger relationships with JCC Camps at Medford leadership team
• A special Dugma t-shirt
• A $100 stipend upon completion of the FULL 2020 camp season
